Google Ranking - How to Rank High in Google Search With Youtube Video

Google search results algorithm places what it considers the most relevant web pages first when users enter any search query. Many principles influence the position of websites in organic results. These are what i will refer to as Google ranking factors which will be a topic for another day or i would be deviating from the purpose of this article. Like i said, placement of a web page in organic search results is determined by many factors with the most important one being creating original rich content. Some SEO veterans have argued that there are hardly any content on the web that is "Original" (I mean in the sense that no one has written about it before) But i can say from my experience that your style of writing and choice of words can make an existing content into "Your Original Content" Now, i do not mean rewriting a content.

Apart from creating a rich content, your web page or website needs to be optimized to rank high in Google search. I describe on-page website optimization as factors that let search engines know what your website or page is about. Isn't that part of what all these SEO buzz is all about, anyway? Let me also warn that it does not make sense creating web pages only for search engines. This is one of the sins of Black-hat techniques that get punished sooner or later. Another practice that can improve your online visibility and get your website or blog to rank high in Google is quality back links from other sites.

One of the important ranking factors is link building from external sites and Youtube videos can do this for you excellently. Now let's get to how video marketing can get you quality back links. Just like article marketing but much more effective (to me at least) video marketing is an easy shortcut to making it to Google first page.

Good thing is, video sharing will get quality back links to your website but the excellent thing about it is that in addition to quality link building, it can pull a host of targeted visitors to your site. But before we get to that, let's look at the art of video creation. There are a lot of ways to create a video. Did i hear you say, you're shy and do not want your beautiful face on the camera? Truth is, you don't have to put your face forward to make a video. You can actually convert your existing article or web page into a video and with a voice-over. Yes, articles speak these days. Many article-to-video software do this perfectly. Search the term "article-to-video software" to locate a lot of them.

Alternatively, you can create your own video from scratch using Powerpoint. Again, how to create a video using Powerpoint will be a topic for another day. Ok, assuming you created your video using either an article-to-video software, Powerpoint or Windows Movie maker. Then comes optimization.

Start right from the file name of your video. Use your keywords as your file name. Then start uploading. Your best bet would be Youtube. Reports have it that 75% of web visitors in the US watched videos, with the highest source going to Google and Youtube.

Youtube is a powerful video sharing site. There are other great sites to share your video like Myspace, Yahoo, MSN, Dailymotion, Metacafe. But i am going to focus on how to upload and optimize your video on Youtube for the purpose of this article. That said, you shouldn't restrict yourself to one site.

Back to the scope of this blog and I'm going to stick to it this time.

Title: When you upload a video to Youtube or any video sharing site, there's a pane for title - use it well. Fill your keyword strings/key phrases in the title pane in an order you deem most appropriate.

Description: The description box is your opportunity to further highlight and emphasize your keywords. No keyword spamming please. And here is the best place to add your website url or whatever page you want the link to point to.

Tags: Never forget to fill in your keywords in the space for tags. Very important.

Category: Choose wisely. Be consistent with your video content.

After these on-page optimization, you need to go a step further to get a few backlinks to your video by sharing your Youtube video either by copying the embed code and pasting in other sites or by sharing the url. Let me say however, that your video can go wild all over the web even without you sharing it. This is so true and I'm saying this from a personal experience. It's incredible how fast your video can travel on the web via automated feeds. Now, this too is a topic for next time.

Once your video is created, with your targeted keywords and the above mentioned video optimization in place, you would be amazed how soon your video appears high in organic search results and this in turn boosts the rank and performance of the url in the video.
